I feel so “Fourth of July at Martha’s Vineyard” in this outfit. So much so that I ripped it off my body and contemplated driving to work in my station wagon in my bare skin because clearly I have no other clothes to wear. Then I figured people (strangers, coworkers, the man who picks his nose while driving to work that I catch every day at the same light) would prefer to see me in an ode- to-America outfit over nothing. I put on the black pumps to try to de-prepify this look but I question if that has helped at all.
And yes. I drive a station wagon. I don’t have children or even any dogs to lug around in it but I do tend to pick up random furniture from the side of the road and haul it back to my house. At which point my husband asks what I am going to do with someone else’s junk and I inform him of all of the wonderful possibilities that old door knobs, window frames and stained chairs have. He likes my ideas until he finds out they entail him doing most of the labor to make them come to fruition. It’s ok though. I make our house a home with other people’s trash. Good trade off, right?

LOL@you and your random pick ups! I do the same thing
Love your outfit…The pants are such a great length
Thanks Keesha! And thanks so much for stopping by here!
Found your blog and following via bloglovin. Now, those pants are kind of amazing. And the fact that you drive a station wagon to collect random things just makes me like you more.

Haha! I am so glad my station wagon ownership is a plus to you. It totally is to me too!
LOL, I bet you totally rock that station wagon! I drive an SUV and really don’t need the extra room either, though I don’t do a lot of random pick ups like you.
And I love this outfit, I don’t think it’s too much Born in the USA at all. It’s cute.
Haha. Born in the USA! Good one, Beth!
I love the pattern mixing! Haha, I can totally see you driving around in a station wagon. My hubby got our kitchen table off the street and it’s held up quite nicely

Yes. I think the station wagon fits in quite well with the rest of my…charm? Ha
i do the same thing! i am constantly grabbing free items and throwing them in the minivan (yes, i drive a minivan). i really love your outfit…not too preppy or american at all!
Hey, my station wagon is your mini van. No judgment here!
I love that you drive a wagon! I’d like to see a picture of you in it (but then where would you set up your camera! haha!)
This is a brave outfit, but I think it’s pretty rad.

More Charming in Person
Haha. Coming right up, Molly! I use my recycle bin (I can’t possiby be a style blogger if I use my recycle bin) to take my outfit pictures. Unless Matt is around.
hahah awesome trade
love the print combination!
xx
I think so too!
THOSE PANTS ARE AWESOME!!
These pants are amazing! “He likes my ideas until he finds out they entail him doing most of the labor to make them come to fruition.” Yup! LOL.
Haha. Do you do the same thing to your man?! I do it far too often I think.
You look cute! I’m so glad someone is picking up that random furniture on the side of the road! I always wonder…
I am picking it up! Don’t worry! I don’t live anywhere near Seattle (where I think you are from) but believe me when I say that I would take your furniture cast aways in a second!
You look cute! I love the mix of prints.

Thank you Amy!
I say when you’re 2/3 prep…just go for it. The Martha’s Vineyard look is totally working for you and so are those pants. I wish people would stop finding such great finds at H&M, cause I never do! Except don’t – I’m proud of your shopping abilities. Also, station wagons are awesome. Don’t let anyone tell you different! Thanks for stopping by my blog – you’re hilarious and love your style. Comment is long as a novel. end.

I love this outfit! It’s preppy but it’s also double-dots. I myself am wearing double dots today so I totally approve.
You are a double dotter too today?! Have I missed this? Checking it out now!
ahh.. we haven’t been up to date on our blogs this week..and are LOVING catching up on all your darling looks! loving this dot on dot–you pulled it off SO well and darling!
Thank you ladies!!
I want to steal these pants immediately! They are absolutely perfect, and are so perfect with the dotted tee. I think you’d be more suited for the 4th on Nantucket than the Vineyard though
I thought that Nantucket might be more appropriate but I have only ever been to the Vineyard so I had to keep it real!
Cute pants! I think it’s awesome that you drive a station wagon. I often find cool vintage furniture but can’t take it home because I drive a small car
O man! I would be so sad if I couldn’t grab my treasure from the side of the road!
Ha ha, I think you look pretty fabulous in this outfit! I love the all over dot print!

You are right..another man’s junk is…in my station wagon! Ha! Thanks for stopping by.
Love the mixing pf prints here!! You look so chic!
Nice outfit and funny commentary! I too pick up other people’s trash, much to the dismay of my husband. The other day I brought home a wooden drawer, just a drawer, no cabinet or anything (I was thinking tray). Well, it’s all broken now as the husband decided it would make a great spot to put down a large bag of gardening soil. He swears he did it by accident!! Hmmm?
Loulou
O just a drawer?! Such possibilities!
You are really beautiful lady
Would you like to follow each other?

Thanks so much. Thank you for stopping by and I will be sure to check your blog out.
Dots on dots! Love this outfit. It might look like the 4th MV if you were wearing boat shoes and had somehow incorporated a popped collar, but that is not the case. Have a great weekend!
love the dots on dots look on you! And i laughed out loud just now because you see the same nose picker at the same time everyday! lolol! too good to be true that you have a station wagon you use to pick up treasures!

Oh I totally love this outfit – I’m a big pattern mixer and you’ve inspired me to put together an outfit as I have a very similar pair of trousers and polkadot t-shirt… and as I’m English maybe I can get away with not being at all Martha’s Vineyard
I think it looks fabulous on you!
Thanks for the inspiration!
