oxymorons and palindromes

tshirt, pants: h&m/ blazer: nordstrom’s (birthday gift from my mom)/ sunnies: rayban

This is the ultimate blazer: the shoulder pads create the perfect amount of structure yet the super lightweight material makes it relaxed. So here is my definition of the perfect blazer: structured and relaxed. Want the definition of oxymoron? I just gave it to you.

Since I am apparently a walking (blogging?) dictionary, want another definition? Yes? O good.  A palindrome is a word or phrase that can be read the same way in both directions. Examples: kayak, level, race car, Hannah. That’s right. I am a palindrome. By now I am sure your mind is blown. In just this single blog post I have defined the ultimate blazer, oxymoron and palindrome.

  1. O.M.G….so this whole post just blows my mind. Ever since you overhauled my wardrobe (and changed my life) I have been thinking a lot about clothing. You probably know this since I daily text, gchat, and email you to tell you what i’m wearing, what I purchased, or most importantly what I DIDN’T purchase. I had a dream last night (this is a true story) about mixing patterns, and I woke up with this brilliant idea that I love floral and stripes together (you know how I feel about stripes). Anyways, then I read your blog post and thats what you’re wearing.

Oh, and I knew your name was a palindrome because I specifically remember this time in second grade when we had “indoor recess” and Elise’s mom was doing a word game on the side chalk board and you informed us that your name was spelled the same forwards and backwards…man, even back then you were wicked smart! ;)

  11. Having a palindrome name is pretty cool! I love this blazer, even if it is an oxymoron, I think I agree, I like a comfy, but structured type blazer. So it’s awesome you found one that exists!

  29. Such a cute blazer!!! I usually cut out shoulder pads…but this looks perfect!

  30. That blazer is really nice. I’ve been wanting to find a floral blazer but I’m super picky, so we’ll find out if that happens, haha. Also, your definitions crack me up. I’m the person that all my friends ask to shut up because I offer tidbits like that, so I say, “preach on, sister!”

    • Haha! I am always a bit picky when I have something specific in mind. Like I create it in my brain and never find it in real life. O well. Thanks for stopping by- I am totally checking out your blog..NOW!

  31. Love this look. The pattern mixing is fun, but the trousers and blazer still make it formal enough for a day at the office!

I would love to hear from you! Comments make my day!
